A is for And then...

And then…

This is my Achilles heel of writing. I know why it happens; when I write my rough draft, it tends to be a series of summaries. By the time I’m done it ends up looking like a very long synopsis.

And then…

I go back and fill in the dialogue and other details.

And then…

I spend the rest of my revisions trying to get rid of the And thens…

  1. Oh girl. Same here. When I have to go back and limit my word count, I always go straight for the "and thens..."

  2. Well, the good part of stories happen after the "and then." And then they were chased a by the Great Pug. And then she birthed a demon. Etc, etc, etc. Looking forward to your blog this month!
