Five Year Goals

Last Friday of the Month

This is the last Friday of the month, which makes it Five Year Goal time. Thanks to Misha Gericke for hosting this. Basically we pick a goal we want to work towards over the next five years and report on it once a month. My goal is to have a world-class publishing company. How is it going? Slow. I'm still only working on my own books, which is the plan right now, but it feels like not much else is happening. I've got five years right? I have a feeling it will take all of it and then some. How are your goals coming?

  1. Wow-that's quite the goal. But even tiny steps bring one closer. Good luck!

  2. That's a very ambitious goal! It's probably best to take it one step at a time. Good luck!

  3. I have to echo Sarah's comment about how ambitious your goal is. You have wonderful resources I am sure you can do it. My co-worker many years ago swore by the junior chamber project book- he said it was the guide that the guys who started dominoes used as their business plan. Good luck. I love this idea. There are so many studies that show setting a goal makes it happen. I think sharing it will definitely increase your odd of achievement.

  4. Oh... you know... when it rains, it pours. ;-)

Sometimes, slow is the best way.

  5. It is an ambitious goal, but that's what life is about, right? Shooting for the stars. Best of luck.

  6. Adding other authors is the real challenge.

  7. Hey, Mel,

Nothing wrong with working on you own stories at the moment. That, in itself, is a great goal! Take it from one who hasn't written a word in months..... Keep up the good work!

  8. Trying to find the capital to start up alone is a daunting task.
    You have guts.

  9. Hmm, I'm wondering if you should keep this goal or ditch it for something that you feel more driven towards doing? Like your writing. Or, maybe, modify it to make it seem less overwhelming? e.g. change it to maybe a publishing company that publishes two excellent books a year? Just a thought.
